With 25 years of medical-surgical nursing experience, Ms. Crane learned to appreciate the need for patient education. Her experience as a staff nurse took her first to UCLA Medical Center and later to Santa Monica UCLA Hospital where she later managed nursing teams and designed and taught classes for nurses.
Ms. Crane's practical hospital floor experience prepared her to fully understand the difficult world of hospitals from both the staff as well as patient point of view. She chose to write How To Survive Your Hospital Stay in order to help patients navigate through the mysteries of our confusing medical system. She credits her weekly writing class with giving her the motivation and direction necessary to write this important book.
Ms. Crane has toured the country where she appeared on TV and several bookstores for book signings. She has also consulted and helped educate seniors in San Diego regarding their healthcare choices.
Ms. Crane has completed her second book about hospital nursing titled Days and Nights: Tales of a Bedside Nurse which can be ordered through us.
